Ball \u201cbreaks during a rally\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>After consultation with ITTF Athletes Commission, Rules Committee, ETTU Athletes Commission and coaches during events, following procedures should be followed:<\/p>\n<p>If a player hits the ball (e.g. with the edge) of the racket and the umpire can\u00b4t see whether the ball is broken (e.g. two halves), he\/she has to wait whether the return is good.<\/p>\n<p>If the return is good, but it is obvious that the ball is damaged, the umpire has to call a \u201cLET\u201d. Otherwise, the umpire has to decide the rally as a point.
